Leeds Shopping and Districts

(Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, UK)

Leeds ShoppingThere is no other city in the north of England quite like Leeds for shopping. Within the city centre, all of the shops are gathered in a walkable, well-pedestrianised area and spending your money is generally a pleasurable, stress-free experience. Leeds has an abundance of designer labels, high fashion boutiques and major department stores, such as Harvey Nichols, which opened in 1996 in the popular Victoria Quarter and was their first store outside of London.

The Victoria Shopping Quarter in central Leeds is often referred to as the 'Knightsbridge of the North'. This stylish and impressive development is home to many high-street brands, fashion stores, pavement cafés and a friendly, continental atmosphere. Attractions at the Victoria Quarter include a stunning, stained-glass roof, colourful marbles, gilded mosaics, wrought iron supports, two arcades, polished mahogany and sympathetically restored architecture.
